Vaginoplasty

Vaginoplasty in Lucknow at Kayakriti is a vaginal tightening surgery for women experiencing laxity after childbirth or with age. Dr. Agarwal, FRCS Edinburgh, performs this procedure, also called posterior colporrhaphy, with careful attention to anatomy, comfort, and realistic outcomes. The procedure can be combined with labiaplasty or clitoral hood reduction as part of a wider female rejuvenation surgery plan.

About Vaginoplasty

Vaginal laxity is a common concern after vaginal childbirth, especially after multiple deliveries or large babies, and can also follow aging or significant weight change. Symptoms include reduced sensation during intercourse, awareness of looseness, and sometimes urinary or pelvic floor symptoms. Vaginoplasty addresses the structural component by tightening the posterior vaginal wall and supporting muscles.

The procedure involves removing a triangular strip of mucosa from the back wall of the vagina, repairing the underlying levator muscles in the midline, and closing the mucosa over the repair. Vaginal tightening surgery is often combined with perineorrhaphy to rebuild the perineal body. The end result is a tighter canal and a stronger perineum, while preserving normal anatomy and lubrication.

Cosmetic gyne surgery is most successful when realistic. Vaginoplasty improves the structural component of laxity and often improves sensation during intercourse, but it is not a guarantee of any particular sexual outcome. We discuss this honestly at consultation. Pelvic floor physiotherapy is also part of our overall plan, since muscle tone responds to exercise as well as surgery.

During consultation Dr. Agarwal takes a careful history, performs a private examination, and discusses combined procedures such as labiaplasty or clitoral hood reduction where appropriate. Vaginal repair work in this area carries specific risks that are explained in detail, and women are encouraged to take time before deciding. Surgery is never recommended on the same day as the first consultation.

Vaginoplasty is performed under spinal or general anaesthesia in our day-care theatre. Surgery takes 60 to 90 minutes. Mild discomfort, swelling, and a small amount of discharge are expected for two to three weeks. Most patients in Lucknow return to desk work within five to seven days. Intercourse, tampons, and vigorous exercise wait six to eight weeks until full healing is confirmed.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Will vaginoplasty improve my sex life?
Vaginoplasty addresses the structural component of laxity and often improves sensation during intercourse for both partners. It is not a guarantee of any particular sexual outcome. Dr. Agarwal, FRCS Edinburgh, discusses this honestly at consultation so you decide based on realistic expectations rather than promises. Pelvic floor exercise complements the surgical result.
How long is recovery?
Most patients in Lucknow return to desk work within five to seven days. Mild discomfort and discharge settle over two to three weeks. Lifting heavy objects waits four weeks. Tampons, intercourse, and vigorous exercise wait six to eight weeks until full healing is confirmed at clinical review. We provide stage-by-stage written guidance throughout.
Is vaginoplasty painful?
The procedure is performed under spinal or general anaesthesia, so there is no pain during surgery. Afterwards, most patients describe tenderness and a feeling of fullness rather than sharp pain. Cold packs and prescribed analgesia control discomfort well for the first three to five days. By the second week most patients only need occasional simple painkillers.
What does vaginoplasty cost?
Cost depends on the anaesthesia, theatre time, and any combined procedure such as labiaplasty or perineorrhaphy. After consultation we share a written estimate covering surgery, theatre, anaesthesia, hospital stay, and follow-up reviews. There are no hidden charges, and we recommend combined procedures only when they are clinically appropriate.
Am I a candidate for vaginal tightening surgery?
Adults with significant vaginal laxity after childbirth or aging, completed family if possible, and realistic expectations are usually suitable. We avoid surgery during pregnancy, active infection, or unstable pelvic floor symptoms that need urological assessment first. A private consultation with Dr. Agarwal confirms suitability and the most useful combination of procedures.
