About Chin Augmentation

Also known as genioplasty or mentoplasty, chin reshaping surgery alters the shape, projection, or symmetry of the chin bone and overlying soft tissue. Chin work also influences how the nose and neck read in profile, which is why it is often combined with rhinoplasty or neck contouring.

Recovery is generally manageable. Mild swelling and altered chin sensation are common in the first one to two weeks and settle gradually. A soft diet is advised for a week, especially after intra-oral approaches. Bruising, if any, fades by ten to fourteen days, and most patients return to social activities within two weeks. Final result becomes apparent over two to three months as deeper swelling resolves.
